SPACECOOL Receives Investment Prize at The Liveability Challenge 2026 in Singapore Selected Among the Top Three Startups from More Than 1,500 Applications Across Over 100 Countries
SPACECOOL INC. announced that it has been selected among the top three startups from more than 1,500 applications across over 100 countries and received the Investment Prize at The Liveability Challenge 2026, a global sustainability initiative organized by Temasek Foundation and managed by Eco-Business.
The Liveability Challenge (TLC) is a global initiative that recognizes innovative solutions addressing urgent sustainability challenges in urban tropical environments.
SPACECOOL was selected as the only Japanese finalist in the Cool Earth category, which focuses on climate change mitigation and heat resilience. This marks the first time a Japanese company has been selected as a finalist in the nine-year history of The Liveability Challenge.
At the Grand Finale held on May 20, 2026, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, SPACECOOL delivered its final pitch on a cooling solution for tropical cities utilizing its radiative cooling material, SPACECOOL, and was awarded the Investment Prize.
Commenting on the award, CEO Masahiro Suemitsu said:
“During my time in Singapore, I strongly felt both the severity of the heat-related challenges facing Southeast Asia and Singapore’s determination to address them with genuine commitment.”
Building on this achievement, SPACECOOL will accelerate the deployment of sustainable cooling solutions across Southeast Asia and further advance its efforts to address heat-related challenges on a global scale.
