SPACECOOL Selected for the Second Cohort of SusHi Tech Global’s Growth Acceleration Program Promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
― Accelerating Global Expansion and Expanding the Deployment of SPACECOOL Radiative Cooling Materials ―

CONTENTS
SPACECOOL INC. is pleased to announce that it has been selected for the second cohort of the Growth Acceleration Program under “SusHi Tech Global,” an initiative promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG).
Under SusHi Tech Global, TMG has selected a total of 114 promising startups through its SusHi Tech Global Startups initiative. The Growth Acceleration Program selects 10 initiatives led by these startups that are expected to achieve rapid growth through global expansion. Over a period of up to 18 months, the program provides financial support of up to JPY 200 million, along with tailored, hands-on support. Through these measures, the program aims to help startups scale their businesses globally.

The company’s radiative cooling material, SPACECOOL, combines high solar reflectance with the ability to emit heat into outer space as infrared radiation, enabling cooling without consuming energy. When applied to building roofs, outdoor air-conditioning units, and other outdoor infrastructure exposed to solar heat, this cooling film helps limit temperature increases inside buildings and equipment without consuming energy. This can contribute to reducing air-conditioning energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, improving equipment reliability, and mitigating heatstroke risks.
Building on its selection for the program, SPACECOOL will accelerate its efforts to grow its business in global markets and expand the deployment of this cooling film overseas. At the same time, we will apply the knowledge and expertise gained in international markets to our business development in Tokyo, helping drive the wider adoption of radiative cooling materials with Tokyo as a hub.
About the SPACECOOL Radiative Cooling Material
Under direct sunlight, “SPACECOOL” not only blocks solar heat and suppresses heat absorption, but also releases heat to outer space as infrared radiation within the wavelength range of the so-called atmospheric window (*). This enables temperatures to be reduced below the ambient air temperature with zero energy, achieving one of the world’s highest levels of radiative cooling performance.
When applied to buildings, outdoor infrastructure, and even to people, animals, and plants, SPACECOOL contributes to both climate change adaptation and mitigation by reducing air-conditioning energy consumption, enhancing equipment stability, and improving working environments and productivity.

About SPACECOOL INC.
Founded in April 2021, SPACECOOL INC. is a Japan-based climate tech startup. The company researches, develops and markets SPACECOOL, a radiative cooling material that leverages the natural phenomenon of radiative cooling to enable zero-energy daytime cooling—something conventional technologies could not achieve. By applying SPACECOOL to buildings, outdoor infrastructure, as well as people, animals, and plants, the technology reduces energy demand and CO₂ emissions, alleviates heat stress, and enhances productivity. With these benefits, SPACECOOL aims to become a game-changer in the fight against global warming.
(*) Light has wavelengths that vary in their ability to pass through the atmosphere—some have high transmittance, while others are easily absorbed by the atmosphere. To transport heat into space in the form of light energy, wavelengths with high atmospheric transmittance are ideal. Among these, the 8–13μm wavelength range is particularly transmissive and is referred to as the “atmospheric window.” *“SPACECOOL” is a registered trademark.
