SPACECOOL INC. CEO Masahiro Suemitsu Wins the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 25th Japan Venture Awards
SPACECOOL INC. is pleased to announce that Masahiro Suemitsu, CEO of the Company, has received the highest honor, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, at the 25th Japan Venture Awards (JVA) hosted by the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN (SME SUPPORT JAPAN).
The Japan Venture Awards is an awards program that recognizes highly ambitious startup leaders who conduct innovative businesses with strong growth potential and contribute to solving societal challenges. Since 2000, a total of 376 startup executives and other leaders have received the awards, and many have continued to grow into leaders supporting Japan through their respective businesses. By introducing entrepreneurs who boldly take on challenges as the next generation of Japanese leaders as role models, the program aims to foster entrepreneurial momentum and promote the creation of startups in Japan. For the 25th JVA, an expert judging panel evaluated nominees from the perspectives of leadership qualities, growth potential, innovativeness, social impact, and diversity.
At the award ceremony held on December 18 at Toranomon Hills Forum, nominated entrepreneurs took the stage, and the winners of each award were announced at the venue. Among multiple awards presented—including the Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Award and the Commissioner of the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Award—Masahiro Suemitsu, CEO and CTO of SPACECOOL INC., received the top honor, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award. During the presentation, Mr. Toshiyuki Ochi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, delivered a message stating that startup technologies will play a central role in building a strong economy, and that strengthening support for deep-tech startups will be one of the key initiatives going forward.
Building on this award, SPACECOOL INC. will further accelerate technology development and real-world implementation as a deep-tech, climate-tech, and carve-out startup, and contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society through technologies originating in Japan.
Comment from Masahiro Suemitsu, CEO & CTO of SPACECOOL INC.

After developing radiative cooling film for the first time during my time as a researcher at Osaka Gas, I launched SPACECOOL INC. as a carve-out startup. Since then, we have been able to grow to where we are today thanks to the tremendous support of companies that sustain and strengthen the materials industry, our shareholders, our employees, and also our distributors and partner companies who believe in our technology and have helped expand sales worldwide.
Moving forward, as a startup that embodies three defining characteristics—deep tech, climate tech, and a carve-out model—we will continue delivering value to society and further develop into a company that can serve as a model for others. We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
