SPACECOOL Material Installed in Tennis Court Tent at Emirates Palace Mandarin Hotel – Creating Comfortable Outdoor Sports Environment

SPACECOOL INC. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Masahiro Suemitsu) is pleased to announce that its radiative cooling material “SPACECOOL” has been installed on the roof of a tent covering an approximately 3,200 m² tennis court at the iconic Emirates Palace Mandarin Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The Emirates Palace Mandarin Hotel, a landmark destination in the UAE capital, is a world-class luxury resort spread over 100 hectares of landscaped gardens and featuring a 1.3-kilometre stretch of pristine private beach. It is also home to a premier Tennis Academy that nurtures young talent and serves as a training ground for professional athletes.

Thanks to SPACECOOL’s unique ability to reflect solar radiation while simultaneously emitting heat into outer space, the tent structure effectively reduces temperatures, even under the region’s extreme heat. The specially engineered shading fabric helps extend playable hours during the day, creating a safe and thermally comfortable environment—even under direct sunlight—by substantially reducing air conditioning and ventilation load.

This initiative is expected to serve as a model for passive heat mitigation, offering sustainable and energy-free cooling solutions well suited for the Middle East’s challenging climate. SPACECOOL INC. remains committed to addressing global heat-related challenges through innovative, eco-friendly technologies across the UAE and beyond.
