SPACECOOL INC. (“SPACECOOL” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that Koichi Iguchi has been appointed as Board Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company.

In January 2025, SPACECOOL completed a total funding of JPY900 million through Pre-Series A and Series A rounds. The round included participation from existing investors of WiL and Osaka Gas, as well as new investors such as the Mirai Creation Fund III managed by SPARX Asset Management, MITSUI SUMITOMO INSURANCE Venture Capital, and Mitsubishi HC Capital.

Mr. Iguchi, who possesses deep expertise in corporate value enhancement from a financial perspective, contributed to the latest funding round. His appointment as Board Director and CFO will further strengthen the Company organization to accelerate business expansion and enhance corporate value.

In addition to his contributions as Head of the Corporate Division, Mr. Iguchi has been instrumental in building the Company’s organizational foundations. In his new role as Board Director, he will lead the formulation and execution of management strategies to advance the Company’s vision: “Bringing the coolness of shade trees to the world.”

Mr. Iguchi began his career in 2015 at SMBC Nikko Securities, where he spent approximately nine years primarily engaged in M&A advisory. During his tenure, he was seconded to the firm’s London office and advised on a wide range of M&A transactions—including acquisitions, divestitures, business integrations, privatizations, and capital and business alliances—contributing to corporate value enhancement and financial advisory across a wide range industries.

He joined SPACECOOL in January 2024 and was appointed CFO in April of the same year, when the company transitioned to a new management structure. In addition to overseeing financial operations, he also led all back-office functions as Head of the Corporate Division. In July 2025, he assumed his current position as Board Director and CFO of SPACECOOL.

I am honored to take on the role of Director to further support SPACECOOL’s continued growth. Our company is developing zero-energy cooling technology that works without electricity, offering a new solution to climate change. With the support and understanding of our many stakeholders, I will work closely with my colleagues at SPACECOOL to contribute to the realization of our mission — Bringing the coolness of shade trees to the world — while striving for further business growth.

On the same date as Mr. Iguchi’s appointment, Sayane Yokomatsu from SPARX Asset Management has been newly appointed as an non-executive Board Director. In addition, as of April 2025, Atsushi Yonezawa has joined the Board as a non-executive Board Director, and Hiroki Tanaka has assumed the role of part-time Auditor.
