SPACECOOL INC. (SPACECOOL) wins “Grand Prize” at “Environment Minister Award of the Climate Change Action 2023” with Takenaka Corporation (Takenaka), Seiritsu Industry Co. Ltd. (Seiritsu), and Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (Osaka Gas) by being recognized for the achievement of “COOL Distribution Board” that SPACECOOL have jointly developed with them. The COOL Distribution Board is utilized a radiative sky cooling material, SPACECOOL®.

SPACECOOL® can lower its temperature below its ambient air even in direct sunlight with zero energy by using radiative cooling technology. The COOL Distribution Board is a distribution board that is applied radiative sky cooling materials, SPACECOOL®, on its surface. Because SPACECOOL can suppress a temperature rising inside the board, it is expected to save its energy consumption for cooling (e.g. air conditioners) and to be extended the service life of electronic devices inside it.

SPACECOOL CTO Masahiro Suemitsu was attended a ceremony of the award that was held at Hamarikyu Asahi Hall on 4^th Dec.

SPACECOOL continues to develop radiative sky cooling materials and to provide solutions to the problems of global warming by replacing the surfaces of everything by giving cooling potential. We are also working to promote one of its most effective applications, the COOL Distribution Board.

The COOL Distribution Board is a distribution board that commercialized by Takenaka, Seiritsu, Osaka Gas and SPACECOOL. The temperature inside The COOL Distribution Board is reduced by up to around 10 °C as compared to conventional distribution boards, under the direct sunlight. The ability to reduce this temperature by nearly 10 °C is important for improving equipment life and reliability.
