SPACECOOL Participates in the Japan Saudi Energy Ministerial Dialogue Reporting on Local Project Outcomes Toward Strengthening Bilateral Economic Cooperation

SPACECOOL INC. has recently participated in the Japan Saudi Energy Ministerial Dialogue (Vice-Ministerial Meeting) held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The dialogue was held in conjunction with Mr. Ryosei Akazawa, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, visiting Saudi Arabia.

The dialogue is a ministerial-level meeting regularly held by Japan and Saudi Arabia to deepen their cooperative relationship in the energy field. At the bilateral meeting held in Jeddah on July 16, 2023, between His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and then Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan, the establishment of the Japan-KSA Lighthouse Initiative for Clean Energy Cooperation was announced.

In this dialogue, in addition to renewing efforts to cooperate toward ensuring the stable supply of crude oil to Japan and the stabilization of international markets, the participants welcomed progress including the extension of strategic stockpiling cooperation between the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Aramco, as well as the announcement of the signing of a financing agreement by Marubeni for an onshore wind power project in Saudi Arabia. Based on this, discussions were held on the direction of further cooperation, including progress under the Lighthouse Initiative between the two countries.
